As a Veterinary Professional you already have a pretty good idea as to the day-to-day requirements of being a great Small Animal General Practitioner. Here are just a few of the key tasks that you will be contributing to together with the rest of our team:
Examine pets and educate the owners as to the best diagnostics and treatment options available to address their pet’s short and long term health issues.
Communicate with staff as to the next steps in treatment and diagnostics to be performed for the pet.
Performing soft tissue surgery or treatments such as abscess, growth removals, and spay/neuters.
Recording accurate records in a timely manner in our cloud-based management program (Neo).
Monitoring the progress of hospitalized patients.
You genuinely care for pets, your fellow team members and customers.
You have an enquiring and inquisitive mind.
You are respectful and empathize with clients and staff.
You enjoy spending time educating and involving the client with their pet’s care.
You understand that attention to detail and documentation is as essential as great diagnostic expertise.
Must have or be able to obtain DVM license in the state of California. New Graduates are welcome and encouraged to apply as they will be supported as they gain experience in all aspects of the position. Interest in surgery and dentistry is desired.
We are located just south of Sacramento in the quiet and family friendly town of Galt, CA which is nested within a two-hour drive to the mountains or the ocean. In a short 1-2 hour day trip you could be skiing at Lake Tahoe, or sipping a glass of wine in Napa Valley, or enjoying the rich historic culture and fine dining in Sacramento.
A base salary of $80-100k experienced based, after a 90 day review a determination would be made if an increase is warranted.
No after-hours emergency coverage.
1-week paid vacation the first year, 2 weeks paid vacation after 1 year.
6 paid holidays and 3 sick days provided.
$500 for Continuing Education
Paid license fees and due to CVMA and AVMA
Paid medical insurance through CaliforninaChoice after 90 days probationary period.
