We would like a warm, outgoing CVT or Vet Tech with outstanding client communication skills, demonstrated technical skills, compassion, a meticulous attention to detail, and a positive attitude to join our growing team. You must have prior experience in a veterinary clinic. Prior experience with Impromed or another paperless veterinary software application is a plus. Skills and Qualifications: Compassion for animals and their owners. Demonstrated excellence in customer service and client communication. Proven decision making skills. Ability to work a flexible schedule, which includes evenings, weekends, and holidays. Be able to lift up to 40 lbs. Be aware of the potential for exposure to hazards such as allergens, contagious diseases, barking dogs, odors, bites, scratches, and animal waste - and follow appropriate protocols and procedures to minimize or eliminate risk. Be able to perform the physical and mental duties of the job with or without accommodation. If a CVT, demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of certification. As a Compass technician, you're involved from exam to surgery: Patient TPR- Be the initial point of contact in the exam room and take patient histories. Log TPR and pertinent history/presenting concerns in patient medical record. Surgical Prep - Clean and prep patients for surgery, including administration of pre-surgical meds, placement of IV Catheter, intubation. Log all steps/meds in medical record. Assisting in Surgery -Assist veterinarians in surgery including patient monitoring and logging TPR and pertinent levels. Monitor hospitalized patients - meticulous monitoring of recovering and hospitalized patients. Continued logging in medical record. Equipment and instrument maintenance - follow clinic protocols to clean and sterilize packs. Follow manufacturer and clinic protocols to maintain and calibrate certain equipment when required. Administer medications - including vaccines, when authorized by veterinarian. Care for Boarding Animals - we have a very small boarding facility and everyone helps with the care and feeding of the boarders. Most boarders are kitties. Clinic cleaning and maintenance - typical clinic cleaning and maintenance of the areas under your care. Daily call backs - Call clients daily to insure compliance, satisfaction, and to answer any concerns they may have. Other duties and typical roles for a tech as assigned by management.
