About the job:
PetSmart Veterinary Services is seeking experienced veterinary technicians for a privately owned practices within the PetSmart stores . We are looking for positive, compassionate, and personable individuals who are eager to serve customers and our four-legged patients. As a Veterinary Technician, you play a vital role supporting doctors and working directly with pets and their parents. Your role is a critical component of our medical and surgical team. This is a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that requires quick thinking, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to perform under pressure. A successful candidate will demonstrate exceptional communication skills. Empathy is paramount.
Responsibilities:
· Registered and licensed technicians are tasked with providing a high-level of patient care and supervising other technical staff.
About you:
● Active, non-restricted veterinary technician license or certification
● Understanding of veterinary medicine, practices, and procedures (surgery and clinical)
o Skill: induce and intubate patient for anesthetic procedures
o Skill: Manage anesthetic procedures and patient recovery
o Skill: Administer medications and vaccinations
o Skill: Place IV catheters and perform venipuncture
● Expert communicator (written and verbal)
● First-in-Class customer service
● Flexible, willing to perform many job duties within the hospital
● Friendly, positive, team-oriented attitude
● The desire to learn more and take the initiative
● 2+ years of experience as a licensed technician in a veterinary hospital preferred
