Premier Veterinary Group in Orland Park is looking for a full-time Veterinary Technician Manager to join our Emergency and Critical Care Department. Under general supervision of the Hospital Manager, this individual leads the clinical team with a focus on high-quality, comprehensive, accessible, supportive and personalized care for all clients and patients. Ensures adequate staffing levels support staff across designated departments in order to provide effective medical services and an optimal client experience. Serves as the liaisons between leadership and the staff. Supports and exemplifies the mission, vision and core values of the company. Responsibilities : Coordinate the day to ensure the department runs smoothly, on-time, with sufficient staffing Work in collaboration with Clinical Coordinator to provide department training Participates in hiring and onboarding of staff and performance reviews. Participates in identifying and planning for staffing consistent with needs of client population and budgetary parameters Encourages and builds mutual trust, respect, communication and cooperation among team members. Advocates satisfaction of internal and external customers. Serves as the hospital go to in accordance with assigned duty schedule. Collaborates with staff at all levels and departments to streamline delivery of services without compromising care or hospitality. Manages equipment service needs for department Qualifications : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the above listed responsibilities satisfactory. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. Skills and Experience : CVT preferred 3 or more years of experience as a Veterinary Technician Anesthesia experience preferred Educational Requirements : High School education or equivalent Several years experience of related job experience Certification or licensing as a veterinary technician preferred Competencies : Self-Motivator: Ability to work efficiently and effectively, proactive with approach Communicator: Successful communication is essential with all clients and stakeholders, considers and responds appropriately to the needs, feelings and capabilities of different people in different situations Technical Credibility: Understands and appropriately applies procedures, requirements, regulations, and policies related to specialized expertise.
