What You'll Do Veterinary Technicians are responsible for ensuring that clients and patients receive excellent care and that the services are provided in a timely manner through teamwork and friendly interactions. As a Veterinary Technician you will: Assist veterinarians in appointments and surgery. Perform technical duties such as venipuncture, catheter placement, proper restraint, radiographic positioning, dental prophylaxis, and anesthetic monitoring. Provide client education in pet care, so you must be well versed in regards to various medical procedures and preventive care for pets. Complete the entire cycle of service with clients and patients, from checkin to checkout. What You Need to Get the Job Done (Minimum Qualifications) A 2-4 year degree, science-related field is preferred. 2+ years of previous experience as a veterinary technician or veterinary assistant is required. Ablility to meet the physical demands of working a 10+ hour shift standing, squatting, walking, lifting and carrying 50 lbs unassisted Ability to work around substances such as animal saliva, blood, urine, fecal material, vomit, etc. Comfortable and able to work both indoors and outdoors during all seasons Comfortable and able to work with all breeds, temperaments, and sizes of dogs and cats What Will Make You Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications) A customer service background (dogs and cats don't take themselves to the vet) What You'll Love About Us Great Company Culture.
